The Oxidation Resistant Coating SIBOR ®
SIBOR® is a patented protective coating for molybdenum in oxidising atmospheres up to 1600°C and it was developed by PLANSEE especially for applications in the glass industry. Under oxidation, the very hard and dense coating generates a diffusion barrier against the base material and creates a SiO2 seal where it is exposed to air.

SIBOR® provides optimal oxidation protection to enable molybdenum with its excellent thermo-mechanical and corrosion resistant properties in glass melts to be used during the up-tempering phase in air. |
